Workspace brings reusable foundations and existing business functions. If a case fits this model, schukai can build faster on customers, tasks, documents, permissions or workflows. A completely custom business application, on the other hand, offers more freedom in the data model and user interface, but also requires more in-house development and long-term maintenance.
The line is not always either-or. Workspace can provide a standard core and be extended in a targeted way. An external business application can remain connected via interfaces. What matters is whether the particular requirement represents a commercially important difference or merely reproduces a familiar presentation. Using a real process, schukai checks which parts Workspace covers, which are configured and which really have to be custom developed.
