Terms from the product
Interval, minimum term and notice period come from the product. In the shop, your customer sees them before buying.

You maintain a subscription’s term, notice period and price once on the product. The shop displays them at checkout, and Workspace creates the subscription for the person or company. Workspace rates measured usage from your systems at your prices and passes it on, checked, to billing.
Your product team maintains interval, minimum term, notice period and price on the variant.
Your customer takes out the subscription in the shop with their customer account, and Workspace creates the subscription from it.
Your systems or a gateway report usage. Workspace aggregates it per resource and period.
Workspace rates the usage at your prices and passes the checked items on to your billing, from which the invoice is created.
Term, notice period and price are defined by your product alone. At purchase, the subscription takes over price, tax and addresses from the initial order.
Your shop can display subscriptions in the customer account. Customers cancel there at the end of the period or withdraw a cancellation.
Customers only see stored payment methods in masked form. The actual payment data stays with the payment provider.
You bill by usage only, with a subscription as a base fee, or with both together.
Each source reports with its own access and its own volume limit. Intake logs show duplicate and rejected reports.
If service, metering contract and customer do not match, Workspace holds back the handover. Without rated usage, no billing is created.
A new resource first registers itself. It only becomes billable once your team approves it and assigns it to a customer, a service and a price.
Rated usage produces a billing request, a usage statement and a draft for accounting. Your team then creates the invoice from this draft.
Subscription products sit in the same shop as the rest of your range.

A subscription needs a clearly identified contracting party. With the customer account, every subscription is clearly assigned to a person or a company, and your customer manages it themselves later on.
Business customers submit change requests for their subscription as an enquiry via their customer account. Your team reviews the enquiry and decides.
We give you the price in an offer, because it depends on the scope of your project.
