How Workspace works for you
- 1
Favourites at your fingertips
Up to 32 lists with twelve favourites each. You name lists and shortcuts yourself, and a swipe up brings up all your other apps.
- 2
Work apps kept apart
If you like, Android sets up a work profile. The same app then uses separate accounts and data for private and work use.
- 3
Codes right on your phone
Guard generates time-based verification codes for your accounts, protected by your Android sign-in.
What matters to you
- Five designsClassic, Rings, Timeline, Type or Dynamic – light, dark or following the system. Every list can have its own design.
- Offline and no accountThe launcher needs neither a sign-in nor an internet connection. Apps you launch may need their own accounts.
- Sync devices directlyConnect your own devices via Bluetooth and a QR invitation. The encrypted sync runs without any cloud or server.
- Backups in your handsYou back up the launcher and authenticator to files. Before restoring, Guard shows you a preview of the accounts.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
The launcher needs neither. The apps you launch from Workspace may need their own accounts or internet access.
Can I use Workspace as my default launcher?
Yes, from Android 12. Choose Workspace as the default home app in your Android settings. That’s also where you switch back to another launcher later.
Can I set up a work profile on any device?
Setup depends on the device and any management policies in place. Workspace doesn’t take over work profiles managed by someone else.
What happens if I remove the work profile?
Once you confirm, Android also deletes the apps, accounts and data stored in it. A favourites list on its own doesn’t separate any data.
Where can I find help and privacy information?
If you have questions, Support is there to help. How the app processes data is explained in the Workspace privacy policy.
