Tax and international sales

Workspace determines the tax for basket, quotation and order, for private and business customers alike. Customs and origin data are attached to the product variant, export evidence to the shipment. At the end of a reporting period, you hand your tax adviser checked records.

What Workspace handles for you

Tax from the server

Shop, quotation and order calculate with the same tax decision. If the address, company or shipping changes, Workspace checks again.

Business purchases with a verified number

You verify the VAT ID directly on the company or in the quotation. Only a valid verification result leads to treatment without VAT.

OSS and IOSS per company

Each scheme applies to a specific legal entity and its sales scope. If a registration does not fit, Workspace puts the case on hold.

Evidence on the shipment

For each export shipment, you see which proof of export is still missing and when it is due.

From basket to tax return

Step 01

Together with your tax adviser, we set up legal entities, registrations, tax rates and posting assignments.

Step 02

In the shop, the quotation and the order, Workspace determines the tax and stores this status on the document.

Step 03

Before shipping, Workspace checks the variant’s customs classification, origin and market decision for the destination country.

Step 04

Your team adds missing proof of export to the shipment. You then pass the reporting period to your tax adviser as CSV or JSON.

What you can rely on

Fixed status on the document

Existing orders keep their verification and tax status. A later check on the company does not silently reassess them.

Exports from Germany

Workspace shows direct deliveries of goods from Germany to a third country as tax-exempt export deliveries once you have activated this treatment with your approval.

IOSS tied to the shipment

Workspace only selects IOSS for confirmed import consignments of up to EUR 150 when registration, origin and country of destination match.

Customs file per variant

Customs classification, origin, supplier’s declaration and market decision only apply after a completed review. Every correction creates a new version.

Shipping with evidence

On shipping, Workspace stores which customs and origin data applied to the destination country. Later changes to the file leave this evidence untouched.

Complete periods

If transport or export evidence is missing, the export of the reporting period remains blocked. A closed period no longer accepts later entries.

Returns well prepared

Every final invoice produces a fixed tax entry. Workspace assigns it to the reporting obligations, such as the VAT return, the EC Sales List or OSS. Your team prepares OSS returns quarterly and IOSS returns monthly, including nil returns and corrections.

A second person approves every prepared OSS return. Workspace generates the records for your tax adviser and records when the return was submitted. You or your tax adviser handle the submission itself.

Frequently asked questions

Does Workspace replace our tax adviser?

No. Workspace applies the tax rules you have set up together with your tax adviser and keeps all records ready. You continue to clarify special cases with your advisers.

Does Workspace submit returns to the tax office?

Workspace prepares the records for each reporting period and outputs them as CSV or JSON. You or your tax adviser handle the submission, and Workspace then records that it has taken place.

Which international business is it suitable for?

It is designed for direct sales to private and business customers in the EU and for direct deliveries of goods from Germany to third countries. If you sell via marketplaces or in chain transactions, we discuss your case with you in advance.

What does it cost?

We give you the price in an offer, because it depends on the scope of your project.
