Workspace: integrations

How does a Workspace integration differ from a direct interface?

Answer

A direct interface transports data between two systems and can be entirely sufficient for stable standard cases. Workspace becomes relevant when people have to deal with missing, contradictory or uncertain data. It then provides context, status, responsibility and controlled actions.

For example, an order can be sent technically from the shop to the ERP. If a valid customer assignment is missing there, Workspace shows the affected order and the decision required. After the correction, processing can continue in a controlled way. Workspace does not necessarily replace the technical integration component; it adds the part that a log or automatic retry cannot solve on its own.
