The app is designed for mobile capture and local drafts. This means a goods receipt can also be prepared or documented where the connection is unreliable. For further processing across the organisation, however, the app must clearly show whether a case has only been saved locally, is queued for transfer or has been confirmed by the target system.
Photos and attachments can take up a lot of storage and transfer time. Actual offline use should therefore be tested with realistic cases, app restarts, full storage and longer network interruptions. A report completed locally is not automatically available in the ERP or on a second device. For an operational roll-out, synchronisation, conflicts and retention are agreed with the organisation.
