Exceptions receive their own business states and are not hidden in free text. At goods receipt, the quantity, condition of the packaging, photos and the decision can be recorded. During picking or shipping, a shortage, substitute item, partial delivery or block can trigger a defined next step. A responsible person sees what has been decided or still needs to be clarified.
The documentation should distinguish between original data and later notes. Corrections remain traceable without overwriting the original event.
