B2B customer portal

How are customer-specific prices and product ranges displayed?

Answer

First, pricing must be unambiguous in business terms: price lists, customer groups, individual agreements, quantity scales, currencies, validity periods and possible approvals. The portal should not invent a second, independent pricing logic of its own if the ERP or commerce core already performs the binding calculation. It displays or requests the approved price for the specific customer and context.

Product ranges and visibility rights are likewise checked on the server. A hidden button is not access control. With several organisations, locations or roles, it must be defined who may see which prices, orders and documents. Price changes need traceable update behaviour; for time-critical quotes, recalculation on submission may be necessary. The technical solution follows the existing commercial rule – it does not replace clarifying it.
