Depending on the product and project, cloud operation, a separate environment, on-premise or a hybrid model may be options. However, not every product supports every operating model. A local installation can, for example, create additional requirements for updates, monitoring, database, certificates and support access. A SaaS product, conversely, may depend on a platform for which schukai is responsible.
The decision is made on the basis of data, availability, existing IT, integrations, budget and responsibility. “On-premise” does not automatically mean more secure, and “cloud” does not automatically mean maintenance-free. Before a commitment is made, it is clarified who is responsible for the operating system, database, application, network, backups and recovery. Availability guarantees arise exclusively from the specific operating contract.
