Who can develop a business app and its backend?

If your app accesses shared company data, the development team should also be able to take responsibility for the backend, permissions and interfaces. Ask them to use a typical task to explain where data is stored and what happens when the connection drops. Also ask who tests changes to the app and backend together.

Not every app needs a server. A local application may be sufficient for a single person. Once several devices, shared data or an ERP are involved, synchronisation and access rights need to be planned. Distribution, accounts, maintenance and ongoing costs are also part of the decision.
