For each data type it is decided which system leads. Workspace can display ERP master data, manage editorial additions or approval status and then pass approved information on to the shop or portal. An existing PIM can continue to lead product content, while Workspace makes tasks and exceptions visible.
Technically, data can be replicated; in business terms, responsibility stays unambiguous. Changes receive stable identifiers and traceable states. If a transfer fails, the affected product is shown as a clarification case instead of merely creating an entry in the technical log. Product maintenance thus becomes a controlled process rather than a chain of unnoticed imports.
