Who owns store accounts, signing keys and source code?

Answer

These points should be clarified in writing before release. For a company’s own app it usually makes sense for the company to control its Apple and Google developer accounts itself and for schukai to receive the necessary roles. The app listing, ratings and ability to publish then remain with the client, even if technical support changes later.

Signing is not mere administration: operating systems use signatures to associate updates with the same app. Lost or incorrectly assigned keys can make later releases considerably more difficult. On Google Play, app signing keys and upload keys can be handled separately; the specific procedures depend on the distribution route. Source code, library licences, designs, back end and documentation must also be named separately in the contract. schukai makes no blanket statement about ownership but records which rights of use, access and handover artefacts belong to each project.
