Workspace is suitable when product maintenance involves not just fields but also tasks, queries, completeness and approvals. Employees can see which information is missing, who needs to supply an image or document and for which channel a product has been approved. Existing commercial master data from the ERP or content from a PIM can remain connected.
For very large, multilingual catalogues with complex syndication, a specialised PIM may be the better leading platform. Workspace can then cover the upstream or complementary work process. What matters is the real difficulty: number and variants, data sources, people responsible, channels and quality requirements. Using difficult products, schukai checks whether Workspace is sufficient or whether a PIM integration makes more sense.
