Answer
If an established shop system covers the product structure, prices, checkout and integration requirements without major workarounds, it is usually more economical. This applies especially when a large extension ecosystem, fast standard integration and as little in-house operation as possible matter more than special business rules.
Shopcloud should also not be chosen just to avoid licence costs in the short term. A commerce foundation of your own requires long-term product and operational responsibility. Likewise, a single unusual requirement is not sufficient reason to replace the entire shop core; an extension or an external business service may be enough. schukai therefore looks at the deviation that matters permanently to the business, not at the length of the wish list.
