Answer
A reliable migration covers far more than items and page layout. Customer accounts, order history, product variants, media, content, pricing rules, vouchers, taxes, payments, shipping methods, emails, interfaces and legally relevant documents all need to be checked. URLs and redirects are also important, so that reachable product pages and existing search engine links are not lost unnecessarily.
Not all legacy data has to be moved into the new system. For completed orders, an audit-proof archive can be more economical. What matters is that employees and customers can find the information they need after the switch and that ongoing cases do not disappear between two platforms. Before go-live, test migrations, reconciliation figures and a cut-over plan with a fallback option are needed. A migration is therefore a data and operations project, not just a relaunch.
