Yes. That is exactly what the modular entry is for. A sensible starting area has a reachable user group, a recurring case and a verifiable result. Examples include processing incoming orders, a quotation process, product approval or a service appointment with a report. Areas you do not use do not have to be part of the first implementation.
The first scope should nevertheless form a coherent, productive whole. An empty customer screen or a general task board on its own rarely changes a business process. Data sources, roles, documents and the most important exceptions are taken into account from the start. Future extensibility does not mean preparing every conceivable module today. It means choosing business boundaries and interfaces so that the next area can be connected in a controlled way.
