Online shop

Can special ordering rules be added to a standard shop?

Answer

Often yes. Many systems can be extended via plug-ins, apps, events or external services. This makes sense when the special rule remains clearly separated and does not regularly block updates to the core system. Examples might be an additional check, a customer-specific export or a limited configurator.

If central product, pricing and order rules permanently work against the platform’s data model, however, the technical and organisational effort grows. Then it has to be examined whether an external business service, a customer portal or Shopcloud forms the more stable boundary. The best solution is not automatically the one with the lowest initial effort. It must also remain understandable through platform updates, new channels and staff changes.
