There does not have to be a single system for all product information. The ERP can lead the item number, unit and commercial master data, a PIM the technical attributes and texts, and a media archive the images and documents. What matters is that a source, a responsible editor and an approval rule are defined for every relevant field.
Without this assignment, systems overwrite each other and manual corrections follow. The solution can merge data from several sources into one shared product view and publish it per channel. It remains traceable which system holds the business truth. schukai therefore likes to start with a difficult product that has variants, documents and special prices. Gaps in the model become visible faster with it than with an ideal single item.
