The required export should be described before the contract begins. This includes not only table values but, depending on the application, also files, relationships, statuses, identifiers and metadata. Common formats can be CSV, JSON, APIs or structured file archives. A technically complete database dump is not always the most usable export for a new system.
For hosted projects, schukai describes export options and a limited retention period for backups; the specific scope and timing are set out in the contract and product. An export does not automatically transfer all software functions, licences or third-party rights. For a later migration, it should be documented which data is leading in business terms and which was only mirrored from other systems. Regular test exports can be sensible for critical applications.
