Answer
Custom software makes particular sense when an important, recurring workflow is not reliably supported by the existing systems. Typical signs are duplicate data entry, Excel files as the unofficial main application, information spread across several mailboxes, recurring manual checks or exceptions that make up a significant part of day-to-day business.
That alone is not enough for the decision, however. First it should be checked whether configuration, an existing module or a well-defined interface is sufficient. Custom development is worthwhile where the process, data model or responsibility is permanently special and this special feature is economically relevant. schukai therefore does not start with a wish list of screens. A real case is looked at from trigger to business outcome. This shows whether a new application, an addition to existing systems or no development at all is the most sensible solution.
