Answer
Before implementation, testable examples and expected results are agreed. Automated tests secure technical and business rules, but do not replace acceptance by real users. Before going live, normal cases, important exceptions, permissions, data migration and, where relevant, offline or interface errors are tested.
A deviation from what was agreed is a defect. A new or changed requirement is a change request and is assessed for its impact on schedule, budget and existing functions. In practice, acceptance at small companies often ends with an informal “that’s fine”. This does not release schukai from checking internally against defined criteria and documenting open points. An honest acceptance process protects both sides and provides a clear basis for the stabilisation phase.
