Privacy policy for Stewfolk Hidden Objects

Read this privacy policy in German

Version 1.0.0 · Updated: 1 November 2026

1. Game, provider and contact

This privacy policy applies to the Android app Stewfolk Hidden Objects, called Stewfolk Wimmelbild in German, with package ID com.schukai.stewfolk.hog. The game belongs to JourneyBit Studio, the games label of schukai. It is a separate app; the privacy policy for the game Stewfolk does not apply to it.

The controller for the processing we describe here is schukai, postal address Eichenstraße 26, 82290 Landsberied, Germany. You can send privacy and app questions to hey@schukai.com. Full provider details are available in the legal notice.

The game is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The app does not collect your date of birth or require proof of identity for this purpose.

2. Data that stay on your device

You do not need a game account. The app stores the following in private Android app storage:

  • your stamp album, including stamps already found and coloured;
  • the number of completed rounds and your best times for each place, if you play with the clock;
  • saved daily-picture progress and the number of the last completed picture;
  • settings such as sound, volume levels, clock display, whether found objects remain visible, and introduction progress.

This lets the app continue your game, show your progress and choose new pictures to match the stamps you are still missing. The daily picture is determined using the local date on your device. No location data are accessed for this purpose. Pictures, music and sounds are included in the app and loaded or composed locally.

schukai does not operate a game server for this app and does not automatically receive these game data. There is no leaderboard, cloud synchronisation or sign-in to a schukai service. The app has no function for importing your own photos or exporting and restoring a game backup.

3. Permissions, protection and backups

The regular app does not request access to location, contacts, camera, microphone or your photo library. It contains no advertising and no integrated advertising, usage analytics or developer crash-reporting SDKs. Sound functions play existing audio files; they do not record audio.

Android's storage protection applies to locally stored data. The game does not additionally encrypt its saved progress itself. Protect access to your device, particularly with a device lock.

The app is configured to exclude its game data from automatic Android cloud backups and device transfers. schukai does not provide its own backup or server-side recovery. Losing your device, clearing app storage or uninstalling may result in loss of local progress.

4. Storage duration and deletion

Local data remain stored until you remove them using the available functions or clear app storage.

“Reset the game” in settings deletes your album, round count, best times and saved picture progress after you confirm; the introduction starts again. Settings such as your sound preferences remain. The reset cannot be undone in the app.

To remove the remaining settings as well, clear all app storage in Android settings. Uninstalling usually also removes private app data. There is no remote game account. Resetting or uninstalling does not delete data held independently by Google or in a support email you have sent.

5. Purchase and Google Play

The game is provided as a paid download through Google Play. This version has no in-app purchases, subscription, integrated payment processing or server-side purchase verification. The game itself does not process payment information or purchase receipts.

Google processes data for your Google account, purchase, payment, delivery and updates under its own terms. Any additional technical usage and diagnostic data processed by Android or Google Play also depend on your system settings. This is separate from local gameplay processing and an analytics or crash-reporting service built into the app. Further information is available in Google's privacy policy.

For billing, purchase enquiries and refunds, we may also view the order and financial information Google Play makes available to providers. This may include order number, product, purchase time, amount, currency, purchase or refund status and, depending on the report, country information. A specific purchase enquiry may also involve contact details provided by you or Google for that purpose. This information comes from purchase processing or your enquiry, not from an upload of your saved game.

Where these details are personal data, we process them to perform the contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and to meet statutory billing and retention obligations under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. We retain them only for as long as the relevant purpose and applicable legal obligations require. Deleting local game progress does not remove these separate business records.

6. If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, message content and any details or attachments you voluntarily include. We use this information to handle your request and communicate with you. The game does not automatically send saved progress or diagnostic reports to support. Include only information needed for your request.

We handle contractual and pre-contractual enquiries under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, the basis is our legitimate interest in responding under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where we must retain data to meet legal obligations, the basis is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.

Service providers used for receiving email, communication and IT operations may have access to the data as necessary for those tasks. Further information about this processing and its providers is available in schukai's privacy information. The local app does not transmit game data to those services.

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request. We then delete it unless statutory retention duties or legitimate, time-limited evidentiary purposes require otherwise. Contacting support is voluntary; without the contact and factual details needed for a reply, we may be unable to handle your request.

7. Your data protection rights

Where the GDPR applies and its conditions are met, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests under Article 21 GDPR. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it for the future.

You may complain to a competent data protection authority, particularly where you live or work or where the alleged infringement occurred. For private-sector organisations in Bavaria, one contact is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision.

For data held by schukai, contact hey@schukai.com. In regular operation we have no remote access to game data stored solely on your device and cannot retrieve or delete them from our systems. Use the local functions or Android app settings for those data. This does not exclude your statutory rights.

8. Website and changes

Opening a website or sending an email takes you outside local gameplay. Our website is covered by its own privacy information. You can also read this privacy policy offline in the app.

If new functions change the processing described here, we update this policy and the necessary store disclosures accordingly. The date above identifies this version.
